Dream Weaver ~ The Story of A New Beginning

In the dream, I was searching from room to room. The house was large, had many rooms, and was familiar to me, but I didn't recognize it. Perhaps it was one I had visited as a child? I was looking for someone. In each room, people gave me something. At first, they were treasures but somehow got changed into terror.

I ran towards the front door. I heard the thunderheads outside and a daunting notion overcame me that the outside held darkness too. I flung the door open anyway, for the threat behind me was greater. Just then, the wind suddenly picked up and gushed towards me on the porch. Usually, the changing seasons always brought unpredictable weather so there was hope that the sun would shine. But what I saw was all too predictable, so I thought.

As the wall of dark clouds pushed across the horizon, the rain came harder and more threatening than ever before. But this time, the rain seemed to be coming from a different kind of storm. Even so, the crashes of the waves in the sea came closer and closer together just as a woman's labor pains when she is about to give birth to her child. Fear instantly crept in and just as I was about to turn back toward the door, a movement in the water caught my attention. It was like a lightning bolt suddenly cut through the dark clouds covering the horizon. Far away across the sea, I saw light coming out above the water in a small but undeniable location. Then I saw a perfect circular tunnel coming from that light, like that place in the center of a wave where surfers glide through with uncanny grace. It was calmer and more inviting than anything I'd ever seen. The tunnel made its way towards me and I squinted to see the tiny object on the shore. It was a boat! But there was a rope attached to it from a nearby pier. I couldn't believe it! There it was, a way of escape! The boat gently rocked as if to capture the glistening light upon it and entice my eyes; calling me towards it.

The rain was still falling everywhere except for in that tunnel of light, but now it seemed to exist only with a purpose of running interference for me, cutting through all the noises of the usual storms. Then I heard the most beautiful song of birds I'd ever heard just above the sound of the thunderheads; like a song of deliverance from all my fears. It was like I woke up, but only in my senses, for I knew I was still asleep. I just had to get to that boat!

Just as a lion's eyes are amplified eight times more than human's ability to see in the darkness, only a small light provided, so too were my eyes opened wide to see the only thing I was after. I ran with the speed of a Peregrine Falcon, the fastest bird on the planet to untie that boat! I knew I had somewhere to go; a journey. I didn't know where that boat would take me, just that I had the conviction to go and that the only treasures left to be found were somewhere in the deep waters.

A voice in the dream spoke and said, "Do you see what I see?” He said, "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear on you." Then He said, "Regardless of what the ears of the body has told you and regardless of what the eyes of the body has shown you, you abide where I am. I AM where LOVE is. The body was only a temporary learning tool. Your LIFE can become whenever you choose it to BECOME. Surrender the world even as you are still in it, and in doing so, reveal to the world who I AM.

When I awoke from the dream, it was as if I had not existed before, but at the same time, I felt awareness and repetition of some previous act or thing. Like I had in fact already existed before now. As I walked toward the door and out to the porch as I must have done a thousand times both awake and asleep, I was somehow now existing for the first time. My former body was of old. I smelled the fragrance of a newborn baby. My skin was flawless and when I touched it, I was unable to express what it felt like. The atmosphere was light, no heaviness. Everything I saw was in its purest form, undiluted, nothing attached, nothing next to it; it simply was as the author of my dreams saw it. The One who causes souls to escape as a bird who escape out of the snare of the fowlers, the One who breaks the snare and the birds escape!

I was awakened and arose a new person indeed; with a new reality, I could never have imagined, even in my wildest dreams!
